The Season Begins

We got the call yesterday afternoon that the boat is launched and commissioned. So we discussed things quickly and decided to run out to move the boat from the storage facility dock over to our slip at the Marina. Everything went without a hitch. I was worried about it being a bit windy so I had everything planned out in my head. When we shoved off and started going, the wind started to let up. The wind was from the southwest so there really weren't any waves out on the lake so it turned out to be a rather nice little cruise out of the West Harbor inlet over to East Harbor inlet. Water depths are better than anticipated but still a little tight in a couple places. Nothing to worry about though. There were 2 small fishing boats and the Kelley's Island Ferry out on the lake.

Now we need to get everything out of the basement and into the truck so that we can load in and then get the mast up and ready to accept the Highfield Dinghy we ordered at the Cleveland Boatshow in January. Oh yeah...... I also need to activate the Starlink since I paused service for the winter layup.

It felt good to pilot the boat and get her in the slip and ready for a season of fun on the water.

Stay tuned for more posts and stories of our adventures.
