Ready to go......

This past weekend we put a lot of time and effort into getting the final items checked off the list before we get going on the season. We needed to raise the mast and get our name on the transom as well as the hailing port. We spent about 1 day working on all of that. The name took most of our time as the mast went up pretty much without a hitch. We had to fuss with it a bit to get the bimini top up and in place but that was about it. I untied all of the lines that held the mast and boom in place. All we had to do was attach a line to the forestay turn buckle that attaches to the pilothouse roof and the other end of that line to the windlass. I lifted the mast up and off the cradle a couple of feet and then hollered at Chris to start lifting with the windlass. Up it went! Faster than I figured it would. At the same time I needed to lower the boom to unload the weight of the boom. All said and done it was easier to raise the mast than it was to lower it.

Getting the name decal applied is always fun. You tape it up first and get it aligned by eye, mark the corners with a pencil and then peal the top backing off, spray with rapid tac and then carefully line it up and smooth it on with a couple squeegee's to get any air pockets out. Let it sit for about 3omins then peal the other backing off. It turned out well and we were able to place it so that we did not have to cut any letters.

We put some new carpets in, I looked in one of the storage compartments aon the fly bridge and found the cable runs so I know where the starlink cable will go. We otherwise hung out until it was time to go home. Off to Middle Bass this upcoming weekend. Our maiden voyage for the season.

Out and back to 16........
