It is HOT!!!!!

It has been a while since we last posted our activities. Mother Nature has certainly changed the thermostat! We went from cool weather to seriously hot, for Ohio that is. We have been experiencing high humidity and hot temps. The lake water temp has increased to the high 70's which makes it quite nice to jump in and cool off as well as just float around and stay cool. My own personal threshold for getting in the water is 72F. The data buoys out in the lake and between the islands are consistently reading between 77 and 81 depending on location. Chris and I took advantage of the water temps and have been generally playing in the water to stay cool. We have a paddle board, kayak and float chairs that make it all possible. Rudy, our dog, loves to get in the kayak and head to shore to play ball in the water. It helps burn off energy and keep him cool at the same time. The sandy beach just to the west of East Harbor inlet is a favorite.

Other news is that we have put the Starlink to good use. We spent the week over at Middle Bass Island Yacht Club and I was able to work and play. The Starlink is an amazing bit of kit. The next and final test is to cruise over to Geneva State Park Marina and use the starlink in motion. That cruise is about 11 hours so we will need to get going early, 6am or so, and then get out on the lake and set the autopilot and then Chris can keep an eye on things while I stand in the pilot house and work. I can also sit behind the helm and work there as well. We will most likely need to run the Air conditioning so we will run the generator instead of the Inverter.

Once out at Geneva, and once I am done with work for the day, we can go to Geneva on the Lake as there is 1 winery that is worth it. We can also call Chris's sister Colleen and her husband John and have them come over and we can goof off.

The boat has been working very well for us. It is hard to believe that we are part way through July already and things are not slowing down. That is life.

Out and back to 16
